Good to know
Your questions, answered
What is volumetric (mobile) concrete?
Volumetric concrete is mixed fresh on your site by a mobile mixer truck, rather than pre-batched at a plant. The water, cement and aggregate are combined on demand, so you get fresh concrete every time, can adjust the mix on the spot, and only pay for what you actually pour.
How is on-site mixing different from batch-plant ready-mix?
On-site (volumetric) mixing eliminates travel-time delays and the 2-hour clock that limits barrel trucks, and it cuts waste. With Bathurst Ready Mix you only pay for the concrete you use — no over-ordering and no short-load surprises.
How much does concrete cost in Toronto & the GTA?
Concrete is priced per cubic yard (or cubic metre) and varies with strength (MPa), volume, admixtures and site access. Because we mix on-site and you only pay for what you use, you avoid paying for waste. Call (416) 656-1937 for a fast, accurate quote.
How much concrete do I need?
Measure your length, width and thickness and use our concrete calculator for an estimate in cubic yards and cubic metres. Our team can confirm the volume — and because we mix on-site, you’ll never over-order or run short.
Do I need to know exactly how much to order?
Not exactly. Give us your dimensions and our team will help estimate volume. Our trucks mix on-site, so the amount can flex to the real job.
Can I schedule same-day delivery?
In most cases, yes. We run a large fleet 7 days a week, including 24-hour emergency delivery options across the GTA.
Do you deliver on weekends and holidays?
Yes. We deliver 7 days a week and offer 24-hour emergency service for urgent pours — just call ahead so we can schedule the right truck.
How far in advance should I book?
For standard residential pours, 24–48 hours’ notice is ideal. Larger or scheduled commercial work benefits from more lead time, but we’ll always try to accommodate short-notice and same-day requests.
What concrete strengths (MPa) do you offer?
We supply 15, 20, 25, 30, 32 and 35 MPa, plus high-early-strength mixes — with over 100 mix designs available for different applications.
What MPa should I use for a driveway, garage or footing?
Exterior surfaces like driveways and sidewalks are typically 25–30 MPa with air entrainment for freeze-thaw durability; garage and shed pads are often 30–32 MPa; footings vary by load. Our team will recommend the right mix for your job.
Do you supply fibre-reinforced or air-entrained concrete?
Yes. We can add fibre reinforcement, air entrainment, accelerators and other admixtures on-site to match your project’s strength, durability and weather requirements.
What slump should I order?
Slump depends on placement and finish — typical slabs run around 80–120 mm. Because we mix on-site, we can fine-tune the slump as we pour. Tell us the application and we’ll dial it in.
Can you pour concrete in winter / cold weather?
Yes — we deliver year-round. Our cold-weather mixes use accelerators and adjusted designs so your concrete performs through the GTA winter; we’ll also advise on protecting and curing the pour.
Is there a minimum order or short-load fee?
A minimum applies, but with volumetric on-site mixing you only pay for what you pour — so there are no traditional short-load fees for leftover concrete.
Do you provide unshrinkable fill (U-fill)?
Yes — we supply U-fill Max 0.4 MPa and 0.7 MPa, commonly used for backfill, sewer and water-main projects, plus grout and dry-pack.
What areas do you deliver to?
We deliver across Toronto and the GTA — Scarborough, North York, Etobicoke, Markham, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Brampton, Pickering, Ajax, Oshawa and many more. Outside our core zone? Still inquire — we’ll arrange the trucks needed.
How long before I can walk or drive on new concrete?
As a general guide, you can usually walk on new concrete after about 24–48 hours and drive on it after about 7 days, with full strength around 28 days. Conditions vary — we’ll advise on curing for your pour.
How should I prepare my site for delivery?
Have a compacted, formed base ready, clear truck access, and someone on-site to direct the pour. Let us know about access constraints (gates, slopes, distance) so we can plan the right equipment.
